Associate Professor Wayne Crismani is a researcher of Wiradjuri and European descent. Wayne is based at St Vincent’s Institute in Naarm/Melbourne, where his laboratory investigates the molecular basis of Fanconi Anaemia. He is committed to translating discoveries from the laboratory into real-world benefits for individuals and families affected by FA, and contributes actively to FASA’s mission.
Wayne leads research studies open to participation by people living with FA and their families.
Wayne completed his PhD in Adelaide and undertook postdoctoral and group-leader roles overseas before joining St Vincent’s Institute. His laboratory’s work is supported by the National Health and Medical Research Council, the Victorian Cancer Agency with ongoing relationships and collaborative support from the Fanconi Cancer Foundation and Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision.
Outside of research, Wayne enjoys family life, reading, and hobbies such as language learning, music and sports.
